The Anatolian plateau is located in Turkey ,

century B.C. It was named after Anatolia or the Rising Sun by the Greeks.


History of the Anatolian Plateau


The Anatolian plateau is one of the important areas in which humans settled 

during the Paleolithic and Modern Ages and developed during that stability. 

The Greek Kingdom occupied Anatolia under the rule of Alexander the Great and the Roman Empire, 

then the Ottoman Empire in the fifteenth century; This led to the spread of Islam in the region. 

The present Anatolian plateau was established in 1923 AD after the collapse of the 

Ottoman Empire in the wake of Turkey’s War of Independence between 1919 and 1923 AD.

and the average temperatures in the plateau vary greatly, 

as it is cold and humid for about half the year,
